The Future Of Disc Magnets

According to history, there is one very popular legend that tries to explain how magnets were discovered. According to this legend, the discovery was made over 4000 years ago by Magnes, an elderly man who has herding his sheep. He was at a place called Magnesia that is found in the Northern part of Greece. As he was herding, he happened to stand on a black rock that made his shoe nails and walking stick get stuck to the black rock. His walking stick had a metallic tip. He started digging around and found lodestones. The immense black rock was named magnetite after him and the Magnesia place he found it. Disc Magnets.

There are some health benefits that are tied to the use of magnets. According to history, Cleopatra used magnets to maintain her beauty by sleeping with them. In the 2500 BC era, people commonly used magnetite on their skin to keep it looking young and supple. In the world today, the Chinese have been using them to stimulate various pressure areas through reflexology in order to relief pain and aches in the human body. To aid in arthritis, people use magnetic bracelets.

This is how magnets work. There are different types of metals that have microscopic properties of a magnet. Each of these metals contains billions of atoms that clump up forming domains. Domains are groups of atoms that face the same direction. Different domains tend to act in the same manner forming a bar magnet. In normal situations the tiny domains face different sides thus they tend to cancel each other out, neutralizing the magnetic effect of the metal. In order to have the domains face the same direction, one can pass an electric current through the metal forcing the domains to face a similar direction. A natural magnet is then created.

Magnets are used as valuable resources in various ways to help reduce pollution. Many of the electrical motors that are produced in the market have magnets. They are also being used to develop trains in the continent of Asia as well as in the United States. These trains are projected to move at a high speed

The future of magnets lies in the emerging technology. There are so many ways magnets can be used in computers. Currently they are used in hard drives allowing them to spin very fast and to erase or write digital memory. Disc magnets are also used to create blank spots in discs. In future, magnets will be used for very many technological purposes. They will be used in hovercrafts as adhesives among other purposes. They are the perfect resource since they can be renewed and they do not create waste or increase pollution.
